Hugh G. Healey

Hugh has over 25 years of experience in various positions in the maritime industry. Upon graduating from the United States Merchant Marine Academy with a 3rd Mates Unlimited Tonnage license, he started his career sailing on the Great Lakes and coastwise ferries before he came ashore to work for Maersk Line (Universal Stevedoring) in Port Newark, New Jersey. He later moved to the Long Beach, Ca to work for Sealand Service in terminal management, where he garnered over 15 years of experience in all facets of containerized shipping industry with increasingly growing responsibilities in sales, sales management, logistics, and lastly serving as country manager for Horizon Lines operations in Guam. After 5 years as General Manager in Guam, Hugh took the position as Director of one of the largest accounts for Damco (Maersk Logistics) for several years, managing all facets of just in time delivery logistical support (ocean, air, truck, and small parcel) for DynCorp International and the LOGCAP IV contract supporting our troops in Afghanistan. Hugh most recently held the position of Vice President of the West Coast region for Zim American Integrated Shipping Services. Hugh earned a Masters in Business Administration while on the West Coast with Pepperdine School of Business. He is currently the South Florida Chapter President for USMMA, he was honorably discharged from US Naval Reserve as LCDR. He is married and has two children residing in Davie, Florida.
